Brief History
The Huni Kuin, also known as the Kaxinawá, are indigenous people from the Brazilian and Peruvian Amazon. Known for their deep spiritual connection to the rainforest, the Huni Kuin have preserved their rich cultural heritage through songs, rituals, and traditional practices. The sacred songs, or Icaros, are integral to their ceremonies, believed to bring harmony, healing, and a deeper connection to nature.
Event Introduction
The Huni Kuin Pinuya family invites you to immerse yourself in their sacred traditions. Through their enchanting songs, you will be transported to the heart of the Amazon rainforest, experiencing the profound wisdom and spiritual teachings of the Huni Kuin people. The event will also include a Hape circle, where participants can partake in this traditional plant medicine, known for its grounding and cleansing properties.

In honor of my birthday month, I am bringing elements of my Transformational TWERKshop into this experience. We are programmed to believe there is something wrong with moving our hips. It’s a human condition to store so much negativity, especially in this part of our body causing pain, illness, and disease. Bringing conscious awareness and activating our hips allows us to let go of the emotional and environmental toxins we build up. A healing space is created to let go of fears, expectations, judgements, criticisms, emotional baggage, inner critic, self-blame, guilt, abuse, pain, embarrassment, and shame. We will be tapping into the art of twerking. Twerking traces back to West Africa and was known as the Mapouka Dance. It was a celebratory dance of joy and was widely accepted because people believed it led to encounters with GOD!

Emily Weer’s broad scope of education comes from 25+ years of experience in Healing Arts and therapy based work. The theme for this Cacao Activation is inspired by Kintsugi, a Japanese term meaning “to join with gold”. This activation will remind us to stay open & optimistic when things fall apart and to celebrate the flaws and missteps of life. Feel the support to crack yourself open and love all of your pieces in this safe container. Because after all, the cracks are where the light gets in.
Join us for a heart centered evening of connection, cacao, somatic breathwork, and embodied movement. You are invited to drop out of your mind and into your body, open up the potential for release, clarity, realizations, surrender and access to deeper wisdom.

WHAT IS CACAO:
Cacao comes from the edible seed of the cacao tree, which is native to tropical regions such as Central and South America. After cacao beans are harvested from the tree, they are pulled from the shells and left in the sun to naturally ferment and dry. Cacao is known for its impressive nutrient profile, and many even call it a “superfood,” as it is the most nutrient dense live food there is. Cacao has 40 TIMES the heart-protective antioxidants of blueberries. It is one of the highest concentrations of magnesium in any natural food source.
